Thank you to everyone who entered the 2013-2014 essay contest! We received many wonderful essays, but we’ve finally narrowed it down to our three winners. Find out who they are and read their essays below the fold.

This year’s contest asked students to write a 1,200 word essay on the subject “What policy changes should the government pursue in order to best foster economic prosperity?” Several readings were assigned to assist students in formulating their thoughts. Out of hundreds of excellent essays, three winners were selected.

The contest winners are:

First Place: Sarah Shafer of Big Piney, WY

Second Place: Sarah Jacob of Fredericksburg, VA

Third Place: Megan Angell of Naperville, IL

The winners will receive scholarships of up to $5,000 and will be honored at the Hatton W. Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series with David Stockman on February 21, 2014 in Dallas.

Thanks again to everyone who entered. Look for next year’s contest announcement in late summer.
