Hey Debaters! Debate Central just wrapped up our first workshop of 2012! As part of our workshop series, we distributed a comprehensive topic file for Lincoln-Douglas. For the first time, we’re making our workshop resources available to YOU!


The National Center for Policy Analysis and Debate Central are proud to announce the 2012 Young Patriots Essay Contest!

The topic of this year’s essay contest is:  “What is the proper role of the government in insuring people against major social risks?”


Debate Central is moving the Skyline High School workshop back a week to accommodate more students. The new date will be September 8th. All other details remain the same.


A large part of part of Debate Central’s mission is bringing you current, in-depth information directly from experts. This year, we’re proud to release our economic analysis of the topic, “Message to Debaters on the Economics of the 2012-2013 Debate Topic.” This brief paper, written just for you by transportation and urban growth expert Randal O’Toole of the Cato Institute, is meant for debaters to use as a research resource, background paper, and comprehensive study of this year’s cross-examination topic:
